Hey, Lincoln Park North Pond adorers! Chicago Lincoln Park Conservancy is hosting a virtual fundraiser benefiting the lovely North Pond that is in dire need of restoration before it is too late (read more here). I am honored Rach B Jewelry designs will be part of this year’s 2021 Wonders of the Park Virtual Auction running June 18-20. The honorable Conservancy hosts an annual auction to raise funds for important environmental, ecological and educational work in Chicago’s beloved Lincoln Park, and therefore, North Pond. The Conservancy’s mission is to identify, preserve and enhance the natural, historical and cultural assets of Lincoln Park that lies along the lakefront from Oak Street to Hollywood Boulevard. More than ever, Chicago’s natural amenities and outdoor spaces greatly spoiled us in 2020 and provided us much-needed enjoyment, fresh air, and spaces to roam and make memories.

The Chicago-based fundraiser will be held online virtually once again from June 18-20, due to the pandemic. I already cannot wait for next year’s gala in person(!!). Each year, the Gala for Lincoln Park celebrates the community and fundraises for diversified work and projects. Last year, it was necessary to turn the Gala into a virtual Auction - which raised more than $85,000! Also, quite convenient to support and shop from home! :)

The enchanting North Pond holds incredible sentiment to me and my family. As a Chicagoan of 18 years (less 2 years in Austin, TX), I have a fond attachment to the natural space of the lakefront. My heart sank when I learned of The North Pond’s mission of preservation - I had no idea it was a dying ecosystem and could be wiped away! My enjoyment of the spanning lakefront, Lincoln Park and North Pond has personally evolved from leisurely walks, bike rides, picnics, summer dinner dates at North Pond Restaurant, wedding photos, and now scooter rides with kids and plentiful Lincoln Park Zoo visits. It is an integral part of Chicago’s greenspace and atmosphere. It is simply magical - all in the heart of Chicago!

Chicago is home sweet home and I am excited my jewelry designs (and personally bidding on auction items!) will help close this gap in fundraising efforts this year to make this endeavor a success that hits incredibly close to home as it does for many others. I am donating 13 jewelry designs to the Lincoln Park Conservancy virtual auction. Register for the Auction at https://LPCgala2021.givesmart.com where you can bid on Rach B Jewelry or other auction items such as one-of-a-kind Park experiences, unique local products, services, and hospitality packages; and opportunities to purchase items that directly support the Park, such as benches, trees and gardening supplies.

A noteworthy list of locally-owned Chicago businesses and artisans are donating their services and goods (peek at them here!). Beauteous North Pond in Lincoln Park is Chicago’s largest and most visited park and this year’s Auction will directly benefit the restoration. Hope you will join the mission to save North Pond as a natural treasure for future generations and enhance Lincoln Park for all to enjoy. Here’s to the 2021 virtual Auction for Lincoln Park closing the remaining gap in the North Pond restoration budget for years to enjoy this special unique gem!
